Weighing approximately 6 pounds, this substantial jade carving features a beautifully detailed dragon surrounded by dramatic sweeping wings. The carving extends throughout the sculpture, with carefully defined facial features, scales, wings, body and surrounding details that make the piece interesting from every angle.
The stone itself is especially beautiful. Soft pale green and creamy ivory tones are accented by translucent areas and natural bands of white, tan and warm golden-brown. Rather than being perfectly uniform, the natural variation travels directly through the carving, giving this dragon a completely individual appearance.
At approximately 7½ inches tall and 4½ inches across at its widest point, this is much larger and heavier than a typical small crystal carving.
